When 59-year-old John Wines walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage, no one in the theater expected the explosive rock show that was about to unfold.
Wearing a modest outfit and speaking with a humble, polite British demeanor, John introduced himself as a music teacher from the south coast of the UK. A former electrician who switched careers 20 years ago to pursue his passion for teaching, John revealed that he auditioned for AGT to practice what he preaches to his young students—proving to them that it’s okay to face your nerves and step onto a giant stage.
When asked if he was nervous, John admitted he was “just a little bit.” But the moment he plugged in his electric guitar, his quiet teacher persona completely vanished!
John unleashed a scorching, high-energy rock medley—shredding through Queen’s iconic “We Will Rock You” and heavy guitar riffs at lightning speed. His jaw-dropping speed, fingerpicking precision, and pure rock-and-roll energy had the entire audience jumping to their feet and cheering in disbelief.
The judges were left totally blown away by his unexpected hidden talent:
-
Simon Cowell & Howie Mandel: Watched with open mouths as the mild-mannered music teacher turned into a full-fledged guitar hero right before their eyes.
-
The Entire Theater: Erupted in a massive standing ovation, celebrating one of the most surprising and electrifying musical auditions of the season.
John walked off the stage with four unanimous “Yes” votes, proving to his students—and the entire world—that age is just a number when you have pure passion for music.
