When 11-year-old Olivia Lynes headed to London’s West End, she thought she was just going to watch Matilda the Musical.
She had no idea her mother and grandmother had secretly sent a video of her singing to Britain’s Got Talent.
While standing at the box office, Olivia got the surprise of a lifetime: judge Amanda Holden walked up, handed over her theater tickets, and invited her to audition for BGT on the spot!
Taking on a Legendary Song
Stepping onto the stage just days later, Olivia chose one of the hardest songs in musical theater: “Defying Gravity” from Wicked.
It is a track that challenges even veteran Broadway stars. But as soon as the music started, Olivia’s nerves vanished:
