Aaron Frith, an aspiring performer from Maidstone in Kent, initially seemed an unlikely candidate for musical stardom, admitting that he spends his days working in a garden center despite knowing “nothing about plants.” However, his true passion lies far from compost and soil; Aaron dreams of performing worldwide, driven by a lifelong love for the smooth, sophisticated sounds of Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé, a style his father introduced him to. Taking a leap of faith, he decided to bring his old-school musical ambitions to the Britain’s Got Talent stage, promising the judges a performance that would be anything but ordinary.
For his audition, Aaron chose a song selection that was utterly unexpected: Britney Spears’ global pop hit, “Toxic.” He audaciously reimagined the famous track, transforming it into a velvety-smooth swing number. His rich, deep voice, which judge David Walliams later compared to a “smooth red wine,” glided effortlessly through the melody, replacing the original pop intensity with classic, big-band jazz charm. The bold artistic choice demonstrated his vocal control and commitment to the swing genre, immediately captivating the audience and providing a refreshing, high-class spin on a modern classic.
